About us |
Supported by National "863" Program of China (Grant No. 2001AA231011), PAK, Proteome Annotation Knowledgebase,
which essentially is an annotation and query system, is committed to provide in depth and comprehensive annotation for
diverse proteomes, especially for eukaryotic proteomes.
The annotation system core comprises two indivisible parts: Protein-Centric Annotation
System (PCAS) and Motif-Centric Annotation System (MCAS).
The two systems apply most up to date bioinformatics algorithms and tools, most of which are
free for academic users, to computationally cluster every protein from the target proteome into certain protein families which
is based on pattern, motif, domain and even structure information.
Besides PCAS and MCAS, we also want to establish
a drug development oriented Bioinformatics Data Libraries (BDL) , which contain serveral secondary databases
of therapeutic proteins and drug target protein families as well as associated bioinformatics algorithms.
The BDL currently includes apoptotic protein database.
